Monday Last 2 lesson with Mr. Mills

Hey everyone :D
I forget to write it down that I already done my health and safety task
for L.O. 1.5
In monday Mr. Mills explained to us the health and safety task and showed as a website to have a look and to get evidence of

Mr. Foleys Lesson and This Week Tuesday lesson with Miss Connel

In Tuesday we began plannig the letter for 1.5 letter
Miss Connel gave us a recoomendation of things to discuss through L.O. 1.5
E.g:
  • What did we learnt from starts to end in Learning Objective 1.1 to 1.5
  • What did we learnt from research and planning?
  • What did we learnt that helped us make our draft better? (discuss WWW and EBI)
  • What do we need to discuss and how did it help to do our drafts etc.
This recoomendation helps me a lot and gaves me ideas what ecxetly I can write in my letter for L.O 1.5


Today in Mr Foley's lesson we get an information sheet from him of what we have to include or should include in our Letter for L.O .1.5. In that sheet we asked to keep the layout and the address of the Sixth Form and for start we can use Dear Mr. Foley as he is the Boss of our Company (C.S.U.A.). We need to use "I" as our work its invidual work and we like managers. First that you have to write that introduce yourself and your position member of staff. Say what I have been doin ( creating a product for a client)


In paragraph one we have to include what we did in L.O. 1.1 and we have to summarise our work in a shor way. We have to write what went well and even better if and after that we have to show our understanding what we done work and what we can do to make it better and why?


In the second paragraph we have to talk about what we done in L.O 1.2 and 1.3 and also summarise what have we done in this L.O.'s we also have to write about our WWW and EBI but not as much we write in L.O. 1.1. We need to make our ideas developed and show/evaluate what we have learnt.


In paragraph three we have to write about L.O. 1.4 but this paragraph should be a the shortest one of all 3 and I should introduce the idea of  telling something / some ideas about my product and that how my interview went with our client. (Mrs Freear)


Lastly we should close the letter worth the final sentence thay says why my BOSS ( Mr. Foley) should use my advert and what make me a positive and creative minded person/ member of the company (C.S.U.A) for the future?


What have I learnt: to be positive and say negative things but show your understaing that say wat whould u do to make it better. Do not use exclamation of question marks. My tone language should be apropiate.

Task Presented.. L.O.1.4

Hey everyone I done my task today 13/12/10 Monday.
In my second lesson I had an interview with our Client (our school Headteacher) Miss Freear. 
I had to talk to her and tell her what was my task. I introduced myself and told her that as my task I choosed Sixth Form and I starts showing her my draft my 4 draft that I done till I get to my final advert (product).
I showed her what I have changed and how I changed it but I didnt say a lot of things about it because i was so nervous. Than when I finished with that I showed her my final product (a poster for Sixth Form) as my homework or plus work actually I printed out as a poster. Than I showed it to her and waited till she gave me feedback :


 She said:

  • She liked my slogan ( she though its a quatation but I explaint it to her that its my own slogan) She said it was excellent
"COnvent is the Best, for get the Rest"
  •  Writing:  Sixth Formers got dress code and I find it inportant
  • Enthusiasm, developing my prodact through my drafts that I done in L.O. 1.3
  • Big Reveal (my own poster in big size in a tube)
  • The process- big drama - Get her interested
  • Final product excellent and talked through
  • Our school is oustanding <- I made the word stands out and make it bolt.

EBI:
  • I only used one picture should used more
  • She asked me where Outstanding comes and I should answer Ofsted report.

6th of Dec. Mr Foley Tripple Lesson

Today, we started working on LO1.4 and finishing LO.1.3. I printed my drafts out for L.O. 1.3 and all I have to do is see where I done something went wonrg with it so I can improve it for the final advert in L.O1.4.It is due for Monday, I do my work in Photoshop and InDesign 
13th December, Mrs Freear will come and see our final work and she will discuss it like: what its good and what is bed on it.

First Draft that I done i didnt use pictures and i used to much information I done that with Miss Connel My second draft was with more Colour but I used the school colours so it came out bright but my final draft for The L.O. 1.3 task I did in InDesign with Mr Foley. I added a 2 pictures and information about the sixth form,  the subjects and of course how people can contact the school.
 For the 1.4 what I have to improve is:

  • Use colours
  • Add the background
  • Make the address and the contact
  • Change Font 
  • Make the Keywords Standout
The last lesson Miss Connel Came in and she help us with Indesign because we had some questions for her. Than we all finished our drafts for L.O.1.3 and Started L.O. 1.4
I also had folder check with Paula and Andreea and we decided what we missin and how we can improve our work.

I learnt to be patient with my class mates as I always help them and I learnt from Andreea how to make my background colourful in Indesing :D So thank YOU :D xx

Mr. Foley's 2nd, 3rd and 4th Period

 In the 1st lesson with Mr Foley we were asked to carry on analyse the Advertising Techniques
we were talking about hte other forms in techniques like Transit signs are small posters placed on trains or buses. E.G.
Targetting our audience directly... etc.
Than we talked about the production of ads that we can
 Learn about the product I can advertise about the school if I don’t know the school I could show some understanding for the entry level 7 or Sixth From it can’t be the same. Ideas in both mediums, something based on print.


Than we talk about Market research it has to be 1.3. E.g. questionnaire or interview, we also talked about we need to understand why people comes to this school E.g. because this is a Catholic school, Good ousted report, different cultures… etc.


We also talked about the Regulation what its one 1.3 that includes health and safety review Annotation

In the 2nd Lesson with Mr foley we carry on doing the same thing but this time we talked about the History of Advertising we talked about that it would be difficult to imagine how was advertising in the past and how technology imroved, we have a lot of things that helps us make an advert and those staffs gives you a sense of freedom and sense of creativity. All ideas worth something… Shows what we have in our school because we cannot compare but we can show what we've got.
3rd lesson Sir let us carry on with our task for 1.2 and 1.3 I finished my rough plans and brain storming for Year 7 and I also done a presentation how I made my Step A for 1.2 and I check my self with the Checklist (that Miss COnnel gave us) to see what I am missing from 1.2

Firday 1.2 Checklist
For 1.2 we need to label the work, and for 1.3 we need to be clear, we also need to develop lots of ideas for both for 1.2 its rough work and 1.3 better work, but only in the area of print. On 1.4 it is going to be the final draft.
We have to consider advertising techniques, and information about other schools (and we already done a research about this with Mr Mills).
Also I can take my own pictures for my adverts.
With Miss Connel we done a checklist for 1.2 its help me a lot because i could check  what have I done for my 1.2 and what am I missing.
  • 1st one was Collecting Research : Information of school, of other school, images and drawing for my advert. Than obviously the desing. The area where i would advertise it, investigation and evidence.
  • 2nd one was Making Notes: Rough notes for 1.2 made on ideas in general, sketches and Concpets for adverts
  • 3rd one was Brainstorming: Information on school entry points, visual diagrams explore my ideas and fulll range of many ideas even if its not good
  • 4th one was Times ideas (rough skecthing of ideas on paper) Medium was Print  (year Seven and 6th Form)  print out the peer and self assesment from our blog to our folder
  • 5th one was Developing the best IDeas: for adverts written and visual, evidence meeting with teacher (DOCUMENT,FEEDBACK,VLOG,BLOG)
  • 6th Choosing and developing one idea: making one idea better, more detaild, rough plan/sketches
When 1.3 Begins
7th Detaild plan: Drafting rough versions of above (6th)


Im on the 5th one right now I have to do my Vlog and than I can go to 6th when im developing further my choosen medium.
This lesson was very helpful because it help me be more organized and concentrate to my Task :)

Mr. Mills's lesson

Hi today in Mr. Mills lesson we asked sir to watch the RockChallenge. After we watched it, sir gave us the school newsletter to show us and ask us where we can use pictures of the compatition.
I discussed my ideas with my friend that where I and her could use pictures of the RockChallenge.
We also talked about that we only have 8 days left to finish L.O. 1.2 and 1.3. We also talk about the task and that how we doing with the research and the rough planning. 
Than Sir gave us some ideas and we were talking about how we can get some more information e.g.:
  • Interview someone who can give you information about the sixth form e.g. Head of Sixth Form 
  • Talk to year 7 students
  • Video the interviews
  • Take pictures of Students learning.... etc. 
One of my classmate particulary good at ideas and she told us that we could do a link where you can see the RockChallenge 2008 where the Convent won the compatition and we can put this link to our Convent homepage. I though this was a really good idea even we do Print for L.O. 1.3
I learn that we have to explore are ideas even with each other than we can make our work better and help each other. Also I learnt that in a class there are creative minded people so we have similar and different ideas that makes our lesson more enjoyable.

23rd of Nov. Self Assessment 1.2

Hi everyone In Miss Connel lesson I had to make rough sketches of adverts in L.O. 1.2
My advertising focus for year 7 are print ( newspaper) and Tv board in the school
What went well about my year 7 adverts are the details on my newspaper, the infromation and the pictures were good in my TV board advert my pictures was good and the infromation look welcoming and pleasant
The year 7 adverts would be even better if in my print it should be more pictures  and less infromation  and the same in my Tv board advert.

My advertising focus for the sixth form are Internet (school homepage) and School Newsletter
What went well about my sixth form adverts are Internet: Good details and the idea that there is going to be moving images, the fact that on the website you can click on a link and it would open a other website page where you can read more about the sixth form In my other advert  School Newsletter: the infromation is welcoming and that I draw and write the logo and the slogan in the newsletter.
The sixth form adverts would be even better if In my School Newsletter there is to much writing and it should be clear and interesting to people to read it so i should use bullet points

In the peer assessment I learned that if I write a lot of details to make it interesting I have to use a same amount of pictures as well and if its too much information than I could make a link where people want to read more and open another page where they can see more pictured and read more, as I learnt that I also learn to make my advert clear, everyone could understand it and for that I could use Bullet points. Also moving images are very good and interesting.

Out of all the adverts I would like to further develop Sixth Form Poster advert because that advert could go to a local areas and people would see it and they would come to our open evening and they could see as I done in my advert that people are friendly here and the school is OUTSTANDING and that we welcome everyone to this school.

Out of all the adverts I would not like to further develop the year 7 Tv board advert because that is in our school or it could go to our website but not many people could see if its in our school just our students and it would not be able to go further like to the street or mothers who liked to find a good school for their children.

22nd of Nov. Mr Mills's lesson

Hey there. :D
Today we used Mr Mills lesson for looking and researching about other schools and we were discussing that how they advertising their selfs that what we done in the first lesson.
We looked at videos about other school  they had:
  • Welcome videos
  • Video about Boarding ..etc.
We also compare the websites to our website and we were talking about advantages and disadvvantages about how our school and other school advertising their slefs.
It help me a lot to understand why it is important to watch and research about different schools, because in L.O.1.3 we are going to make comparessent about different school so this lesson will make it easy for me as it is for my classmates.


In the second lesson we asked Mr. Mills to let us do our bloggin so Here I am and I blog.

22nd of Nov. Mr Foley's lesson

Hi everyone :D Today in Mr. Foley's lesson we were talkin about L.O.1.2 and 1.3. in Unit 1. We were asked to make some notes that what we need to do to get the best mark in this L.O.
Firtsly we need :
  • To research in 2 different area Sixth Form and Year 7 enrty points.
  • Conventions
  • Breath Key Studies of Adverts
  • Examples of different school ( how they advertise their selfs)
  • 2 or 3 different formats e.g. Print, Tv, Internet
  • Intial Plan  (ideas and Brainstorming)
  • Slogans
  • Notes
  • Traget audience : (Year7 and Sixth Form)
Than in 1.3 we have to choose which one we make the advert for year7 of Sixth Form, and thats going to be the final product and Mr. Foley also told us that we have to finish this product the 1st week of December. The ideas that we write we choose one and we develop it further. We also can put questionnair on the advert and we could put the advert to newspaper , metro, radio...etc
These ad should go to local areas that near to our school or it should go on train that pass the Harlesden station so we could put a ad in Bakerloo line (that could be catchy where are slogan and logo is stands out to people recognise that its an ad about our school).


Today we also were looking at Advertising techniques and we also made notes on it.
Sir told us that we need to find out where school advert goes in a newspaper ( locate where it goes the colours and words type.. etc. We could put the ad in London based, Educational, Brent, religion area or (Catholic Magazine)
We also learnt about the slogans that how we should make it or how we should presented:
  • humores
  • alliteration
  • Catholic
  • girls school
  • Academic quality
  • Tradition
Selection Slogan: More effective: -need to be a decision made as to what type pf person to be use, you must be able to justify it (using someone 'normal' or famous) I also learnt today that we cannot  directly compare with another school, however in 1.3 research we do make comparessent 'to the real product'.
I learnt a lot of thing about 1.2 and 1.3 that how should I make it step by step to be good for the mark scheme and I also learnt new words and advertising techniques.

Miss Connel 19th of Nov. (Firday)

In this Lesson with my teacher Miss Connel we had a group meeting becasue she need it to check out folder and she asked us to show her what we done for task L.O 1.2 she told as to do our first 3 steps :D
I done a word document information about our Sixth Form and i but bullet point that what is good about the school and why people should come to this Sixth Form.             ( I have not done research about Year 7)
I only gave one example of how other school advertising their selfs, their Sixt Form than I showed Miss my brainstorming that I done in paper but I will put on Power Point Presentation it was about Yr 7 and Sixt Form). When I done all these Miss gave me feedback.#

Final Presentation about History of Advertising

 
 L.O. 1.1 Presentation History of Advertising

Through my presentation (Mr. Foley, Miss. Connel and Mr. Mills lesson)

-I done my History of Advertising presentation. I learn a lot through this i collect some new skills e.g how to embend videos and moving images.
In every lesson we were ask to look carfully what the task ask us to do.
  • Firstly we had to research about the History of Advertising in the UK and get some information about it e.g the biggest agency in the UK (AMV BBDO) than then when the first agency been set up (1812).
-When we done this we started to do our presentation.
-I done 3 presentation when I felt that my Final one is the best and i have no more work on it than we had the presentation day in Monday.
-In monday we all done our presentation protending that we present it to new member of staff.


  • The best moment for me was when I presented to everyone and I get clab and the end it give me confidenc that it was good. that they understand what was i talking about and I ask a question at the end my presenatation and they were all gave me an answer: --> this made me felt like they were really listening to me.
  • I know next time I should not talk that fast because I know when I am nervous I talk fast and even people told me to slow down because they dont understand me.

Mr. Foley Lesson 01/.11/2010

Today is Monday  we had a single lesson with Mr. Foley and 2 double after break.
In the first lesson we were asked to sit around the table we had to take our planner out and write it down that in 2 weeks time we going to do our first Media L.O 1.1 Assesment.
Than we listen to him as he Presented the Mark Bands and the MArk scheme to us. Than we had to make some notes in our book that what he is expecting us to have in our Power Point Presentation
Firstly:
  • Imagies ( different size of them) - ( moving imagies)
  • Words obv. but creative.
  • Sense of creation
To write about :
  • The regulation
  • Give some introduction
  • History in the Uk
  • E.g. of Agency and adverts that has been changed over the years
Than he told as how should we prepare our time for the presentation that has to be 5min or less. Than we should do 3 presentation and the 3rd one the FInal one thats the one that we should present through this we should time our selfs to see if we fit in the 5minutes that the tasks says.

Mr Mills Lesson 01/11/2010

Today its the 1st of November and in the last two lesson we had Mr Mills. We were talking about our presentation that we will make and present in 2 weeks time.
I am really enjoying Mr Mills lesson because its always fun and I always learn something new.
Today in this lesson we:
  • We learn how to do a new account in Prezi.com <- Website.
  • Mr Mills showed us step by step how to use the Prezi website and how to make a good presentation
  • Doing this with Mr Mills made me change using power point presentation to prezi because I find it easier to use it.
I think the purpose of this task was to learn how to use different things and to get into new staffs.
Doing this, learning how to use Prezi made me realise that in Media there are meny things that you can learn.
Thinking about it now it was a really good that I choice Media Diploma.
I think the most important thing that I learn today is that what I learn in Media will be very useful in my future.

Mr Mills Lesson 21/10/2010

Hey There.



Today in MR Mills's lesson we learn about what we should have (skills) or say? in a interview. What skills is needed for the job and that kind of thing.
We had to choose two people to be our Bosses them was Shasi and Shasi ( Ceries and Sinead) we had to work in pairs to show we can work in team and independently as well and we had to write about the tasks that we would give out for the applicants .
-I worked with Andreea and our tasks was :



  • To have a good presentation skills so she has to do a presentation about our company (-history, background, budget..etc-) in this task she has to get people opinion ( so show that she is good at communication and see if she would be good at persuading people at the end when she present the presentation)
  • Be creative and have IT skills so we want her to create a website or improve our company website so she could show these skills.
  • Our applicants have to be good at working as a team becoming even a Team leader ( see if they can work in team and not just independently, see if you can help other and take other criticizes)
  • And we have to see if the person its really presentable with the costumers. ( Help them, get them understand about our Company, show them how it is work and why it is good to work in here.)
What do I learn most today: I learn about the Companies get you interview to see what skills you got and today this made me focus on those skills and I know now what skills I need to get to work in a company, just as like PLT's that we learnt with Miss Connel.
